A UK accountant, Kiron joined the M&A team at Rothschild in London, working on the banks largest clients, including companies such as Hanson Trust and Nabisco. Subsequently, appointed head of M&A of Rothschild in Hong Kong, Kiron, once again, led a number of landmark transactions in the region. On his return to the UK, he was a founder member of the Rothschild International Privatisation Team and subsequently headed up the Central and Eastern European (“CEE”) Team, jointly rated No. 1 globally for many years (Source Privatisation International). In particular, Kiron was involved in numerous privatisations internationally, in particular in the telecoms, electricity, gas and banking sectors.

Kiron was subsequently appointed Privatisation Adviser to the UK Governments Know How Fund, jointly managed by the UK’s Foreign Office. In this role, he advised the senior most politicians and officials in CEE on policy, privatisation, financial, economic, banking, regulatory and legislative advice. In addition, he was a lead advisor on numerous privatisations, especially in the utility and banking sectors.

Subsequently appointed European head of Media, Technology and Telecoms at CIBC World Markets, Kiron advised on yet more privatisations, though was also involved in M&A and financing transactions on behalf of the bank.

After leaving CIBC, he continued to advise on transactions in CEE.

In total, Kiron has advised on over US$150bn of transactions and, in particular, on a number of landmark M&A and privatisation transactions globally.

In recent years, he has been writing a newsletter on global macro issues, including the impact of political and policy matters, in particular on markets.
